Building Bonds and Blocking Shots: Savannah Davidson’s Insight into PLDT’s Strength and Camaraderie

Success in professional volleyball isn’t just about individual skill — it’s built on trust, teamwork, and chemistry. For Savannah Davidson, these elements have been vital in her journey with the PLDT High Speed Hitters. While her personal achievements are impressive, Savannah is quick to highlight the impact of her teammates and the strong bond they share.

Savannah has spoken highly of her teammates, emphasizing how their collective strength has helped PLDT remain competitive. Among the players who have stood out to her are MaJoy Baron, Mika Reyes, and Dell Palomata — a formidable trio who, according to Savannah, make PLDT one of the strongest blocking teams in the league. “Those three in practice... they don’t give me anything,” Savannah remarked, crediting her teammates for pushing her to improve. “It’s nice to have a practice harder than a game.”

The arrival of star players Kianna Dy and Kim Fajardo also made a notable impact on the squad. Savannah acknowledged their presence as a turning point, particularly for fans. “It was a really big thing when we got MaJoy, Kianna, and Kim,” she explained, noting how their addition reignited memories of their successful college run together at La Salle. This connection sparked excitement among PVL fans, adding a layer of familiarity and excitement to PLDT's lineup. “It’s like a repeat of that championship team,” she said.

Beyond talent, Savannah appreciates the off-court relationships that make the PLDT locker room special. She formed a particularly close bond with former teammate Jules Samonte, whom Savannah described as a key part of her early experience with the team. “I was close — I am close — with Jules,” Savannah shared. While Jules has since moved to Chery Tiggo, Savannah is thrilled to see her thriving in her new role. “She deserves everything,” Savannah added.

Savannah also credited the entire PLDT squad for welcoming her and making her feel at home, despite initially being a stranger to the group. “All of them have played a special part in me being here and feeling welcome,” she said.

In particular, Savannah had high praise for Mika Reyes, describing her as a vital presence both on and off the court. “She’s a really chill person,” Savannah said. “She will do anything to make the people in her circle happy... she’s a really good person to have on a team. She keeps us grounded.”

In a league filled with star talent, Savannah acknowledged how easily her teammates could go overlooked — particularly players like Erika Santos, who has been steadily rising as a consistent contributor. “Erika is really growing into her role... she's on the cusp of reaching her peak,” Savannah said, praising her teammate’s development in key moments. “She's touching on all points of her game, and I think it's paying off.”

For Savannah, the strength of the PLDT High Speed Hitters isn’t just in their individual skills but in the relationships they've built — a camaraderie that continues to grow stronger with every season. As PLDT looks to push deeper into the playoffs, it’s clear that both the talent and the bond within the squad will be key to their success.
